Roddlesworth Roller and Daffodil Doddle
Two trail races take place in Abbey Village on 14 March 2027, raising funds for Abbey Village Primary School PTA. The event uses trail paths around lakes and woodland and is run from the school venue on Bolton Road in Chorley, Lancashire.
Distances
- 9 km Roddlesworth Roller, scenic trail around lakes and woodland, minimum age 16
- 2.2 km Daffodil Doddle, fully off road junior and fun run, minimum age 4
The Daffodil Doddle is limited to 200 entries and has a long history of oversubscription. The Doddle uses chip timing and offers a free medal for all finishers. Both races are fully marshalled and supported by at least three first aid teams across the courses and at start and finish areas. Free food and drink are provided for finishers and additional refreshments are available to purchase.
Prizes are offered subject to sufficient pre-entries, including overall and veteran categories and team prizes for the 9 km, and top placings and team and school prizes for the 2.2 km. Race packs and numbers must be collected at the venue on the day. For the Roddlesworth Roller, trainers with good grip are strongly recommended. Parking at the school is limited; nearby options include Bolton Road, Naja car park, Dole Lane and Twistmoor Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
