Rocky Bay Trail Run
The Rocky Bay Trail Run takes place on Sunday, 23 August 2026 at Rocky Bay Resorts near Scottburgh. The event uses loop courses on mostly non-technical trails that run through rolling sugarcane fields, farmland and coastal forest, with repeated views of the Indian Ocean.
There are three main course options that vary by distance, elevation and aid support:
- 19 km long course
- 12 km medium course
- 6 km short course
The long course includes a river split at the Mzimayi River, a climb of about 100 m over 2 km into southern hills and 3 aid stations. The medium route follows farmland before a 3 km climb starting near the 4 km mark, passes an agricultural dam and has 2 aid stations. The short course is an out-and-back that crosses farm roads, drops into a forest section and includes 1 aid station.
Organizers state there is no compulsory kit for any race and that courses are subject to change. Accommodation options at Rocky Bay Resorts include log cabins and a campsite.
