Event overview
The Rocket to the Moon 5k takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The race starts and finishes at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds, 1001 Fairview Dr., and the course runs through the town on paved roads. The course is described as mostly flat. The event is scheduled to coincide with America’s birthday.

Entry fees listed are $30 for the 5k, $25 for the kids 1-mile, and $35 for the virtual 5k. Online registration is closed and only on-site registration is open. Registration opened on March 31, 2026.
Virtual results can be submitted after the event; the submission window opens on July 3 and closes on July 9. The race is part of a Moon City Challenge series that awards an extra challenge medal when participants register for all three listed races: Rocket Run 5K (July 4), Run to the Moon (July 19), and Fly Me To The Moon (August 9).
