Rocket to the Moon 5k
Rocket to the Moon is a set of running events held on July 4, 2026, at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The in-person course begins and ends at the fairgrounds and runs through the town on all paved roads. The route is described as mostly flat.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk on paved, mostly flat roads.
- Kids 1-Mile Fun Run for youth participants.
- Virtual 5K option with the same distance.
Registration for the listed events opens on March 15 and closes on April 30. The published fees are $30 for the 5K Run/Walk, $20 for the Kids 1-Mile Fun Run, and $30 for the Virtual 5K.
The event is presented as part of a Moon City Challenge. The Moon City Challenge covers three separate races and includes an extra Moon Challenge Medal for participants who register for the full Moon Series. The three races in the series are Moonlight Glow Run on June 20, Rocket to the Moon Run on July 4, and Run to the Moon on July 18. Individual race registration does not qualify for the series medal.
