Event Overview
The Rock The Parkway Half Marathon and 5K takes place in Kansas City. It features two separate running events: a Half Marathon and a 5K.
Location and Course
Both races start and finish at 9400 Ward Parkway, in front of the world headquarters of the event host. The course runs along historic Ward Parkway, which features tree-lined boulevards, urban parks, distinctive architecture, and fountains. The terrain is described as fairly flat and undulating, with a final 1.5-mile downhill section to the finish line.
Event Features
The event provides technical shirts and finisher medals for both distances. There is live music along the course. Aid stations offering water and Gatorade are placed every 1.5 to 2 miles, with energy gel products available at one or two of the later stations. Participants can compete for overall and age group awards across more than a dozen categories.
