Event Overview
The Rock Solid Marathon and Half Marathon takes place in Coupeville on Whidbey Island, Washington. This is the event's second annual edition.
Location and Start/Finish
Both races start and finish at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn, a wooden lodge on Penn Cove built in 1907. The inn serves as the race headquarters for the weekend.
Course Description
The shared initial course leads runners along scenic Madrona Way into Coupeville. It then continues across the island to Ebey's Landing and through the Kettles Trail System.
- The Half Marathon course returns to the Captain Whidbey Inn from this point.
- The Marathon course adds a section with a few miles on a natural beach and meandering country roads before finishing along Penn Cove.
Event Details
All registered runners receive a custom race t-shirt and a finisher medal. A pre-race breakfast and a post-race celebratory dinner are planned at the Captain Whidbey Inn's restaurant.
