Shelby Trails
Shelby Trails is a trail running event held on January 16, 2027 at 5063 Aiken Rd, Simpsonville, KY 40067, United States. The event uses a 2015 looped course that runs through pastures and woodlands and includes a mix of surface types.
Distances offered:
- 4 Miles one loop on the 2015 course
- 8 Miles two loops on the 2015 course
The course surface is mainly grass and dirt trails. Runners encounter rows of cedars, a creek bottom, a small wooden bridge crossing, technical single track stretches, and some hills. The route begins on a wider, flatter section that allows runners to spread out before entering narrower trail and wooded sections. The 4 mile event completes the loop once; the 8 mile event completes the same loop twice.
Registration opens October 5, 2026 and closes December 19, 2026. Registration fees listed are $30.00 for the 4 mile entry and $45.00 for the 8 mile entry. The course is presented as suitable for first time trail runners while also containing technical sections that provide experience for those training for hillier trail events.
