Road Warrior 50k
The Road Warrior Race is a 33.5 mile loop run that follows mostly bike path through West Chicago, Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, Warrenville and Wheaton, returning to Dick Pond Athletics in Carol Stream at 26W515 St Charles Rd. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 18.
The race accepts solo runners and relay teams. Relay teams may consist of two or more runners, and teams may have multiple runners on the course at the same time or a runner accompanied by someone on a bicycle. For a relay team to complete the course, at least one runner must run the entirety of each leg and all legs must be completed.
The course is divided into six sections of roughly 5.5 miles each. There are five aid stations located at the transfer points; each will provide pretzels, granola bars and water at a minimum, and some stations will include Gatorade. Runners are encouraged to bring reusable bottles or cups; a limited number of disposable cups will be available. Numerous public bathrooms and water fountains are present along the route and are identified on the course map.
Packet and bib pickup take place at Dick Pond Athletics on race day. Parking is available at Red Hawk Park across the street from the start/finish; carpooling is encouraged. Registration is free for Dick Pond Racing team members for 2025 and open to the general public for a fee; registration closes July 16. The event is directed by an RRCA Certified Race Director.
