Road America Walk-Run
The Road America Walk-Run is a community fundraising event held at Road America Race Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin. The event supports cancer programs and research; organizers state that participants and volunteers have raised over $5.2 million across more than 46 years, and the current year goal is $200,000. Money raised funds local programs, services, and research.
The event program includes multiple participation options:
- 4 Mile Run (chip timed)
- 4 Mile Walk (self timed)
- Virtual 4 Mile Walk/Run
- Kids Fun Run (approximately 0.621 mile on the track)
Participants in the chip timed 4 Mile Run receive a numbered bib with a timing chip and are eligible for event awards. Walkers, virtual participants, and the Kids Fun Run receive a general Road America bib without a participant number. The virtual option is completed on the honor system and may be finished through December 1; virtual registrants receive an event shirt, bib, and online fundraising tools, and packets may be picked up or mailed on request.
Event details note that all registered participants receive a custom-printed event shirt when registration is completed by October 13 to guarantee a shirt. For safety reasons dogs are not allowed. Kids and strollers are welcome; young children riding in strollers do not require registration. Runners or walkers pushing joggers are asked to start near the back of the pack.
