Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk: Peterborough
The Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk takes place at Riverview Park & Zoo in Peterborough on September 26, 2026. The event uses an out-and-back course contained within zoo property and both distances are chip timed.
Distances offered:
- 1 km run or walk
- 5 km run or walk
Every participant receives a medal. Awards are given to top finishers in each distance and prizes are offered for best costumes. The top three fundraisers will receive additional prizes. Funds raised support the creation of a fully accessible playground at the zoo; current fundraising shows CA$27.80 raised toward a CA$5,000.00 goal.
Race kit pickup is available at the Rotary Education Centre the day before and on race day. Light post-race snacks (apples, granola bars), coffee and a water refill station will be provided. On-site washrooms and parking are available but limited; attendees are encouraged to consider alternative transportation where possible.
