Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk
The Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Riverview Park & Zoo, Water Street, Peterborough, ON, Canada. The event follows an out-and-back course that is fully contained within zoo property.
Two distance options are offered for running and walking:
- 1 km, run or walk
- 5 km, run or walk
Both distances will be chip timed and every participant will receive a medal. Awards are planned for top finishers in each distance and prizes will be given to the top three fundraisers. There is an animal-themed costume contest with prizes for best costumes.
Funds raised will support creation of a fully accessible playground at the zoo. Current fundraising totals are CA$412.45 toward a CA$5,000.00 goal. Registration is limited to 500 participants.
Light snacks will be provided after the event, a water wagon will be available to refill reusable bottles, and coffee will be offered. Washrooms and parking are available on site but are limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
