Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk
The Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk takes place at Riverview Park & Zoo in Peterborough on September 26, 2026. The event uses an out-and-back course fully contained within zoo property with start and finish at the zoo.
Distances offered:
- 1 km run or walk
- 5 km run or walk
Both distances are chip timed. Every participant receives a medal and additional awards are given to top finishers in each distance. The top three fundraisers receive special prizes. There are also prizes for best animal-themed costumes.
Funds raised for the event are designated to create a fully accessible playground at the zoo. The fundraising goal is CA$5,000 and CA$440.25 has been raised so far. Light post-race refreshments such as apples and granola bars will be available, along with coffee and a water wagon to refill reusable bottles.
