About the race
The Riverview Park & Zoo Fun Run and Walk takes place at Riverview Park & Zoo in Peterborough, Ontario on September 26, 2026. The event offers short-distance options around zoo grounds and raises funds to create a fully accessible playground at the zoo. To date CA$1,197.17 has been raised toward a CA$5,000.00 goal.
The course is an out-and-back route contained within zoo property, starting and finishing at the park and zoo. Both the 1 km and 5 km routes are chip timed. Every participant receives a medal; there are awards for top finishers in each distance and special prizes for the top fundraisers.

Race kit pickup is available at the Rotary Education Centre at 1300 Water St on the day before the event and on race day. Light post-race refreshments will include apples and granola bars, with water available from a refill station and coffee provided. Washrooms and parking are available on site but limited. Animal-themed costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for best costumes. Registration is limited to 500 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
