River's Edge Trail Half Marathon, Eldora IA
The event is a paved half marathon covering 13.1 miles on a loop that begins and ends at Memorial Park in Eldora, near the Eldora Welcome Center & Railroad Museum. The course follows the River's Edge Trail and passes through Pine Lake State Park and Steamboat Rock.
There are two entry options: a run or run/walk option and a walk-only option. Registration opens on 2025-12-31 and closes on 2026-04-28; the registration fee is $60. Registrants who register after 2026-09-07 are not guaranteed a race shirt or swag bag, and a limited number of extra shirts will be distributed to late registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Logistics at the start/finish area include parking for participants and spectators at the Hardin County Fair Grounds just west of the park, with Park Street closed for safety and fairgrounds access from 11th Avenue. Packet pick-up will be available on the Friday evening before the event and the morning of the race. Restrooms are available at Memorial Park and the Welcome Center, with additional bathroom locations along the route.
The route will have multiple water stops staffed by volunteers and local organizations. All pre-registered finishers receive locally crafted wooden finisher medals. Overall awards are given to the top two male and female finishers; awards are not separated by runners versus walkers or by age group.
