River Valley Superhero 5K
The River Valley Superhero 5K is an annual community running event held in Russellville, Arkansas, that donates proceeds to a previously selected child or children in the River Valley area who are battling serious illnesses. The event brings together people of all ages and encourages participants to wear superhero costumes; awards are given for Best Adult, Best Child, Best Group Costume, and standard race categories.
The main event is a 5K on a closed down and back course that is described as relatively flat and finished on asphalt. Chip timing will be used and the course will be closed after one hour, after which remaining participants should move to the sidewalk. Event coordinators and volunteers will be stationed at the start, finish, and turning points. At least one water point will be available along the route and medical personnel will be on standby.
A Kids 1K Fun Run follows the 5K and starts at the same start line; parents may run with their children. Packet pickup options include an in-person drive-thru at Russellville Junior High with times to be determined, and morning pickup on race day. Virtual entries are accepted, virtual packets may be shipped for an additional fee, and virtual results are not eligible for awards.
