One Hour Track Run
The One Hour Track Run is a Grand Prix Championship event hosted by the River Valley Runners on 01/24/2027 at Russellville High School, 2203 S Knoxville, Russellville, AR 72802, United States. The event uses a standard 400 meter track and is described as very flat, with aid stations every 1/4 mile.
Two separate heats are scheduled to reduce track congestion: an Over 9:00 per mile heat and an Under 9:00 per mile heat. Regular registration for each heat carries a fee of $30.00; day of race registration is $40.00. Registration opens on 09/30/2026 and closes in late January 2027, with different closing dates for the two heats.
The event has a long history. The first One Hour Track Run took place in 1983 in Russellville at the Arkansas Tech University track. It was discontinued after one year, reappeared in other Arkansas towns during the 1990s, ceased after 1998, and was revived in 2006 for the 25th Running of the Grand Prix, returning to Russellville and being held at the Russellville High School track.
Enhanced security from the Russellville Police Department will be provided during the race and in the parking lots. Chili and accompanying food will be provided after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
