About the race
The River Thames Half Marathon takes place on 25 October 2026 in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, with the start and finish at Walton Bridge. The route follows the River Thames towpath and nearby roads to Hampton Court Bridge and covers the half marathon distance of 13.1 miles. The course is England Athletics certified (Licence ID: 28984) and registered as a Run England licensed event (27290).
The terrain is described as flat and multi-surface: road and path at the start, then towpath with sections of gravel and grass. Water stations are located at approximately 3 miles, 5.5 miles, 8.5 miles and at the finish; only water is available on the course, with food and other drinks provided at the finish. The event provides first aid cover, volunteer marshals, and sweep marshals to assist runners who do not complete the course.
Entries are offered as Club Entry and Non Club Entry with listed fees including a transaction charge. Race numbers are collection only; numbers may be collected on race morning behind Wilde Brunch Cafe or from 16 October at Weybridge Sports (44 High St, Weybridge KT13 8BL) and About The Run in Kingston upon Thames. Shop collection ends at 3pm on Saturday 24 October. Parking is available at The Heart, New Zealand Ave, Walton-on-Thames KT12 1BB for a stated charge of £6 for the day.
Participants must be at least 17 years old. Prizes are awarded to the top three in each sex category with vouchers and complimentary entry to another River Thames Running event.
