Cleveland Metroparks Ugly Sweater 5K
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo hosts the inaugural Ugly Sweater 5K on December 6, 2026. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
Participants are invited to wear ugly sweaters and take part in a race that runs through the zoo grounds. Registration opens March 9, 2026. Pre-registration through December 4 is $30; registration from December 5 through race day is $35. Race day registration is online only. Packet pick-up is scheduled for the morning of the event. The event package includes a custom race t-shirt, a finisher medal for all participants, post-race refreshments, and admission to the zoo.
There will not be a water stop on the course due to cold weather. Water will be available at the start and finish lines; participants are recommended to bring a personal water bottle if they want water on the course.
Spectators must purchase tickets online to enter the zoo; zoo membership does not grant free entry. The box office will be closed and ticket prices are to be determined. Dogs are not allowed at the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
