River City Rat Race
The River City Rat Race is a running event in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The 26th annual event takes place on October 18, 2026. It offers a 10K and a 5K race.
The course goes through autumn parks and the riverfront. The event benefits the Great Fort Wayne Central YMCA. Packet pick-up is available on October 17th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Central Branch YMCA (1020 S. Barr Street) and on race day from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Freimann Square (201 E. Main St.). The race starts at 300 E. Main Street, and the finish line is at the Old Fort.
Registration is $35 per event. Pre-race day registration is $50, available at packet pick-up. Race day registration is $60. Participants receive a race T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall Masters (male and female) for each race and to the top runner in each age group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
