26th Annual River City Rat Race
The 26th Annual River City Rat Race takes place in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 18, 2026. The event features both a 10K and a 5K routed through autumn parks and the riverfront area. The 10K is a Fort Wayne Run Club points race and organizers note that USATF sanctioning and course updates are pending.
Participants receive a race T-shirt and a finisher medal, and age group awards are presented. Prize awards include a $50 prize for the top male and female and a $50 prize for the top Masters male and female in each race. Results are tracked for overall and Masters categories, and winners are recognized within detailed age groups that span from 1-14 years up to 80-99 years.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Saturday October 17 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Central Branch YMCA, 1020 S. Barr Street, and on race day at Freimann Square from 11:00 to 1:00pm at 201 E. Main St. Pre-race day registration at packet pick-up is listed at $50; race day registration is listed at $60. The event location is given as 300 E Main St, with a noted race start at 200 E.
