Rio do Rastro Marathon 2027
The Rio do Rastro Marathon takes place in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, across the municipalities of Orleans, Lauro Muller, and Bom Jardim da Serra. The event is centered around the Serra do Rio do Rastro, a road featuring 284 curves within a 7 km ascent. The route climbs from an altitude of approximately 200 meters to over 1,460 meters, passing through preserved Atlantic Forest and steep rock walls.
The event offers several race distances and combined challenges over two days:
- 12 km (Desafio 12k)
- 25 km
- 42 km
- 37 km (Portal dos Guardiões - combination of 25 km and 12 km)
- 67 km (Missão Guardiões - combination of 25 km and 42 km)
The 25 km race and the first stage of the combined challenges take place on Saturday, starting at Praça Henrique Lage in Lauro Muller. The 42 km and 12 km races occur on Sunday, with the marathon starting at the Paredão de Orleans and the 12 km race starting at Mirante 12 on the SC-390 highway.
Kit collection is organized at the Centro de Eventos Galiano Zomer in Orleans. Participants are encouraged to bring 1 kg of food for donation to local charities. For logistics, the organizers provide a paid transfer service for athletes and companions, which can be booked in advance.
