Rietvlei Dam Night Run/Walk - Pretoria
The event is a night run and walk held at Rietvlei Dam (Angling Area Lapa) on Nelmapius Drive in Pretoria, Gauteng. Distances on offer are:
- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
Online pre-entry fees are listed as R130 for the 10 km, R110 for the 5 km, and R80 for the 2 km. Kids under 13 years and adults over 60 years pay R80 for their distance. On-the-day entries incur an additional R30 except for the specified kids and pensioner categories which remain R80.
The route is entirely within the venue, mostly on tar road, with the 10 km described as a loop of the 5 km. Walking and hiking are permitted on the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km routes. The event includes a marked route, water tables on all routes, a finisher medal, venue entry and parking. Snacks and drinks will be available for sale and Vitality points are awarded.
Participants are required to use a headlamp or torch. The event is not pet friendly. A Make a Difference campaign offers the option to donate the cost of the medal to a fund raiser for an animal shelter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
