About the race
The Ridgewood Reservoir 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 18, 2026 at The Ridgewood Reservoir in Glendale, NY. The event raises funds for NYC H2O and supports the organization’s environmental education and stewardship programs. The course consists of three loops around the historic Ridgewood Reservoir, a 50 acre green space within Highland Park that offers views of the site’s water ecology and history. Registration includes options for a standard 5K Run/Walk.
Pricing varies by registration period and options and may include processing fees; NYC H2O members have a reduced fee. Participants can purchase a race T shirt for an additional fee. Teams may be formed but team participation is optional. Race amenities include live online, email, and text results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for entries registered three weeks in advance.
A hydration station will use reusable Cup Zero cups and feature special Cup Zero collection bins to reduce single use waste. Volunteers who complete an eligible NYC H2O volunteer event before race day may receive a complimentary race shirt; volunteer sign up is separate from race registration. Top three overall male and female finishers receive placement medals and prize packages provided by Patagonia.
