Event Overview
The Ridge Healthcare Foundation 5k Fun Run is a run/walk event supporting the Edgefield hospital. The event celebrates the hospital's new pharmacy and funds the continuation of renovations and service enhancements. The race will start and finish at the square in downtown Edgefield, South Carolina.
Course Information
The course is a 5 km route. It begins at the town square and proceeds onto a rail trail near Piedmont Tech. The route follows the rail trail around Slade Lake, turns right onto Highway 25, right onto Macedonia, left onto Addison Street, and left onto Buncombe Street before returning to the town square. A printed route map will be available on race day.
Activities and Extras
Fun family activities will take place on the square after the run. These include jump houses, music, a 360-degree photo booth, face painting, and vendors for shopping. Separate kids' races will be held for ages 3-4 and 5-7. Age group prizes will be awarded for men and women in multiple categories, from 8-10 up to 70+. A race T-shirt is included, but registration after February 25 does not guarantee a shirt or a specific size. Extra T-shirts may be available for purchase after the race in limited quantities.
Registration and Logistics
Participants under the age of 8 can participate for free if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration packet pick-up is scheduled for March 20, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Edgefield Healthcare County Hospital conference room.
