Boxer Brief 5K & Virtual Challenge to Defeat Colorectal Cancer
The 14th annual Boxer Brief 5K & Virtual Challenge to Defeat Colorectal Cancer is a two-day event on June 6 and June 7 2026 in Richmond, Virginia. The onsite component takes place at City Stadium, home of the Richmond Kickers, and a global, untimed virtual challenge option allows participants to record miles from offsite locations.
The program includes an onsite, timed 5K and a virtual challenge that accepts miles accumulated through a variety of activities such as walking, running, riding, swimming, paddling, or paddleball. The virtual option collects miles across the event weekend rather than race times. Entry fees for the onsite 5K and the virtual challenge are listed at $32 while the children’s events are offered without charge.
Children’s events at the live site include the Diaper Dash for children under one, a crawling distance of four yards; the Toddler Trot for ages one and two, a roughly 20 yard race on the soccer field; and the Caped Colon Crusader sprint for children age six and under, an informal cape-wearing fun run. Organizers note a suggested small donation for these free children’s entries.
Proceeds support Hitting Cancer Below the Belt’s screening and educational services. The event also features music, costumes, awards for overall, age groups, duos and teams, and a referral refund for participants who bring five or more additional registrants using their special referral URL.
