The Richmond Summer Riverside 10k and Half Marathon Run
The event offers two distances:
- 10 km
- Half marathon
The route is based at Ham Street Riverside carpark and follows the towpath along the Thames between Richmond and Kingston, finishing near Ham House. The course is described as largely flat and consists of a mix of trail and paved paths. Off road buggies are permitted, but the course is not wheelchair friendly. Organisers note the route may be altered if necessary.
Chip timing is used with a chip on the race bib and results publish via the timing provider after the race. There are marshals on course and staggered starts are used to manage towpath congestion. Water stations are located at approximately 7 km, 10 km and 17 km for half marathon runners. Participants receive a medal and some trophies are awarded to winners; drinks and snacks are available at the finish.
Practical details include limited parking at the Ham Street riverside carpark and a nearby walk from Richmond mainline station. Bag drop is available with limited space. The event supports the Brain Tumour Charity; fundraising is optional and there is no minimum target for charity supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
