Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race
The Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race is a multi-event running weekend held September 26-27, 2026. The event traces its origin to 1977 and is described as the largest 10K race in Pennsylvania, with nearly a half million people having participated since the inaugural competition. The weekend program includes a 10K race, a 5K run/walk, a running clinic, and the Great Race Expo.
The Dollar Bank Junior Great Race is part of the weekend and marks its 31st annual edition. Children can take part in the Family Fun Run, the Tot Trot, or the Diaper Dash and receive a shirt and a medal. The event has an awards ceremony and raffle that conclude the weekend by honoring winners and awarding raffle prizes on September 27.
The Great Race supports medical research through the Richard S. Caliguiri Amyloidosis Fund. Each year one dollar from every Great Race and Dollar Bank Junior Great Race registration is donated to the fund. For 2026, five dollars from every One GREAT Challenge registration will be donated.
