About the race
The Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon in Duisburg is one of Germany's established city running events. The competition features a flat and fast course designed to support personal best times. A primary highlight of the route is the atmospheric finish located inside the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena.
Participants can choose from a wide variety of disciplines:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Relay Half Marathon
- Inline Marathon
- Handbike Marathon
- School Marathon
The event is organized with a focus on convenience, keeping parking, changing rooms, and the start-finish area in close proximity. Along the course, there are 18 refreshment stations for the full marathon and 10 for the half marathon. Entertainment is provided by 18 samba bands positioned along the route to support the runners and spectators.
Registration includes several services, such as free travel to and from the event using public transport within the entire VRR region. Participants receive a finisher medal and an adidas finisher shirt. Additional amenities include live tracking, personal finish-line videos, professional massage services (excluding relays), and regeneration swimming after the race.
