RexRun For PAWSitivity Trail Run/Walk
The RexRun For PAWSitivity is a family-oriented sports event held at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado. The event supports therapy and patrol dogs that assist schools and communities. Participants can choose from several trail-based activities:
- 5K Trail Run
- Family 5K Trail Walk
- Kids 1-mile Run/Walk
The Family 5K Trail Walk is open to well-behaved dogs on a six-foot, non-retractable leash. The Kids 1-mile Run/Walk is specifically designed for children aged 5 to 12. Registered participants receive a race shirt, a commemorative finisher's medal, a bag of giveaways, and access to recovery snacks and drinks at the finish line.
The event features various activities beyond the races, including a pancake breakfast from a dedicated food truck. Attendees can observe therapy and patrol dog training demonstrations, a dog costume contest, and an honorary K-9 swearing-in ceremony. A Vendor Marketplace is available for visitors to interact with pet professionals and browse products.
For families, the Kids Zone provides inflatable activities, lawn games, an obstacle course, a balloon catapult, and face painting. Silent and live auctions are also conducted on-site. Recovery services at the finish line include food and drinks, ensuring participants have access to refreshments after their activities.
