10th Annual Resurrection Run & Community Easter Egg Hunt

The Resurrection Run is a multi-distance event held at Lake Forest Park in Henderson, Texas. The event commemorates its tenth anniversary by offering a variety of running and walking distances alongside a community celebration. Participants can choose from several event categories:

  • 10K Run
  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 1K Run/Walk
  • "Sleep-In" Donation Only
  • Virtual Rewind Challenges (2024 and 2025 editions)

The 5K and 10K courses start and end at Lake Forest Park, traversing through local neighborhoods and the downtown area. These routes consist of concrete and asphalt terrain and remain open to traffic, with local police assisting in traffic direction. At least one water station is provided along the route. The 1K dash is a non-competitive event that takes place entirely on concrete trails within the park.

Age group awards are available for top finishers in the live 5K and 10K events across various brackets ranging from 18 and under to 60 and over. Following the completion of the races, a community Easter egg hunt featuring thousands of eggs is held for children. Proceeds from the event support several local organizations, including the Henderson Interchurch Ministry and the Rusk County Legacy House.

Facilities at the venue include on-site restrooms and parking at the Civic Center lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
