10th Annual Resurrection Run
The 10th edition of this event takes place at Lake Forest Park in Henderson, Texas. The event features multiple distances that utilize the park's concrete trails and surrounding surface streets. Participants follow a route that leads through local neighborhoods and the downtown area. While the courses remain open to standard traffic, local law enforcement assists with traffic direction to support participant safety.
Participants can choose from the following event distances:
- 10K Run: A 6.2 mile race with a 1.75 hour time limit.
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile distance through asphalt and concrete terrain.
- 1K Run/Walk: A 0.62 mile non scored event consisting of two laps on concrete trails.
- 5K Virtual Rewind: Virtual options for the 2024 and 2025 event medals.
The 5K and 10K races provide age group awards for the top three male and female finishers in various categories, ranging from 18 and under to 60 and over. At least one aid station with water is positioned along the route. Amenities include on site restrooms and parking at the nearby Civic Center lot. Following the athletic events, there is a community Easter egg hunt within the park for all ages. Proceeds from the event support local organizations including Henderson Interchurch Ministry, Rusk County Legacy House, and the Rusk-Panola Children's Advocacy Center.
