Resurrection Run & Community Easter Egg Hunt
The Resurrection Run & Community Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 20, 2027 at Lake Forest Park in Henderson, Texas. The event combines road race distances with a community Easter egg hunt and raises funds for Henderson Interchurch Ministry, Rusk County Legacy House, and Rusk-Panola Children's Advocacy Center.
Distances and options include:
- 1K (0.62 miles) two laps on concrete park trails; non-competitive.
- 5K (3.1 miles) course starts and ends at Lake Forest Park through neighborhoods and downtown.
- 10K (6.2 miles) course starts and ends at Lake Forest Park; time limit 1.75 hours.
- Sleep-In donation option includes a tee shirt; participants may run or not.
Course details: the 5K and 10K run through Henderson neighborhoods and downtown on both concrete and asphalt. These courses are open to traffic; local police will assist with traffic direction. There will be at least one water or aid station on the route. The 1K remains on concrete trails inside the park.
Event logistics: early packet pick-up is scheduled for March 17, 2027 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, and race day packet pick-up is available at the event. Attendees are asked to use the Civic Center parking lot and enter Lake Forest Park from Highway 64. Restrooms are on site. Participants are advised to wear comfortable athletic clothing and footwear and to place their bib on the front outermost layer.
