Red's Race for a Better Community

Red's Race for a Better Community is an annual road race held in Dover, New Hampshire. The event, now in its 43rd year, begins and ends at Woodman Park Elementary School. The 2026 edition introduces updated course routes and serves as the second event in the Dover Race Series.

Participants can choose between two different distances:

  • 5 Mile Road Race
  • 5K Road Race

The event is open to runners and walkers of all experience levels, including recreational joggers and families. The courses are set on public roads within the local community. Registration is available for both adults and youth under the age of 14.

This historic event functions as a fundraiser for two local non-profit organizations: the Woodman Park School PTO and the Seymour Osman Community Center. These organizations provide services within Strafford County.

Participants can collect their race materials, including bibs, on the day before the event at Red's Shoe Barn or on the morning of the race at the school. Runners who present their race bib at Red's Shoe Barn during the week following the event are eligible for a store discount. Online registration typically closes a few days prior to the race date, with on-site registration options available thereafter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
