Rediscover Your Light 5K Run+Walk
The Rediscover Your Light 5K Run+Walk is hosted by The Starr Institute and is presented as a community event to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and exploitation and to promote prevention. Over the past eight years, 900 people from 34 states and 3 countries have participated.
The event offers two ways to complete the 3.1 mile distance:
- 3.1 miles In-person 5K Run/Walk
- 3.1 miles Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The in-person component takes place at Miramar Regional Park, located at 16801 Miramar Pkwy, Miramar, FL 33027, and includes a community gathering. Per Miramar Regional Park rules, dogs are not allowed at the in-person event. Registration for each option carries a stated fee of $35.00.
For the in-person race, the first 65 finishers receive a commemorative medal. The event description notes that participants move at their own pace and that the format aims to create a safe and empowering space for youth, families, and the broader community.
