Redcar Running Festival
The Redcar Running Festival is an athletic event held in Redcar, featuring multiple distances on a course consisting of tarmac roads closed to all vehicles. All primary race routes are certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers (AUKCM).
Participants can choose from various distances:
- Half Marathon: A certified road race.
- 10 km: The Zetland 10 km road race.
- 3 km: A race for young athletes and a fun run open to all ages.
The 3 km Young Athletes race is specifically open to competitors in the Under 13 or Under 15 age groups who are registered with England Athletics. The concurrent fun run is open to the general public, where participants must be at least 4 years old. Parents are permitted to run with their children in the fun run without the need for a separate entry.
All participants across every distance are timed using chip technology, with results provided by a timing partner. Finishers of the 10 km and Half Marathon receive both a medal and a T-shirt. Those completing the 3 km events receive a medal. Race numbers are not sent by post and must be collected on-site on the day of the event. The festival hub is located at Zetland Park.
