Event overview
The Red Feather Trail Jamboree takes place September 25-27, 2026 at Ben Delatour Scout Ranch in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. The weekend features multiple trail races organized by trail runners and includes camping, cabins for rent, a community dinner in the dining hall, and an on-site shower house. The event is capped at 500 total entrants. Typical terrain is 70-80% singletrack and 20-30% dirt road, with reported fauna including moose, raptors, elk, mule deer, black bears and mountain lions.
Distances
- 50 Mile - ~8,500 ft vertical gain
- 50K - ~4,200 ft vertical gain
- Half Marathon - ~1,700 ft vertical gain
Minimum and maximum elevations range from about 7,350 ft up to 10,828 ft, with average elevations of about 8,700 ft for the 50 Mile and 7,800 ft for the 50K/Half.
Course and logistics
The half marathon is described as mostly smooth dirt with moderate climbs and no on-course cut-offs. The 50K has technical terrain in the first 10 miles, then more flowing runnable trails; it has no intermediate cut-offs. The 50 Mile combines five trail systems, reaches near Middle Bald Mountain, and has a single intermediate cut-off at the Granite Ridge aid station (mile 32.4).
Aid stations provide sports drink, water and ice, salty snacks, fruit, sweets and soda, with gluten free and vegan alternatives available on request. Drop bags are allowed for 50 Mile runners at Deadman (mile 21.6) and Granite Ridge (mile 32.4). Crewing is permitted at designated trailheads; certain aid stations do not allow crewing. Recommended race time allowances are 16 hours for the 50 Mile, 11 hours for the 50K and 6 hours for the Half. Registration opens December 15, 2025.
