Ravine Lake Triathlon : Huron, South Dakota
The Ravine Lake Triathlon is an annual sprint triathlon held at Putters and Scoops on Easy Street in Huron, South Dakota. The course is described as flat and fast and offers swim, bike and run segments for the sprint distance, plus youth events and a separate kids fun run.
Race categories and distances:
- Sprint distance: 500 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run.
- Kids Splash n Dash ages 5-10: 100 m swim and 1 mile run.
- Kids Splash n Dash ages 11-16: 200 m swim and 1 mile run.
The Splash n Dash is for youth ages 5 to 16 (age as of 12/31/2026); life vests are permitted for youth participants. A free Kids Fun Run is available for children 12 and under; no preregistration is required but a parental waiver is needed and participants receive a treat provided by Putters & Scoops.
Team entries are accepted; businesses are encouraged to form teams for the sprint distance competing for a travelling Corporate Crank trophy. Helmets and swim caps are required for competitors, and all racers must receive body markings on race morning.
Packet pickup is available Friday evening and Saturday morning at the shelter behind Putters and Scoops. Online sprint registration increases on July 24 to $85 for individuals and $125 for teams; Splash n Dash registration is $20. T shirt sizes are not guaranteed for registrants after July 14.
