Rat Race 5k - Green Forest, Arkansas
The Rat Race 5k is a community road race held on June 6, 2026 in Green Forest, Arkansas. The event was created in honor of a local US Navy SEAL and remembers the 31 service members lost on 8-6-2011 during Extortion 17. The course starts and finishes at Green Forest School, located at 800 Tommy Ratzlaff Avenue.
The weekend program includes an in-person 5K, a dog-friendly run called Bart's Dog Jog, and a Virtual 5K option. Standard in-person entry is listed at $30, with the Virtual 5K listed at $35. Race pricing increases after May 18, 2026, and a $10 discount applies for teams of four or more.
Awards are provided to the top three male and female finishers. Certificates are issued for the following age groups: 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Ratzlaff Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Good Grief Programs in area schools. The event is organized as a fundraiser for a non-profit organization; no refunds will be given if the event is canceled due to weather.
