Passion Play Trail Run
The Passion Play Trail Run takes place in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on the grounds of The Great Passion Play. The event utilizes the Great Passion Play Trails, which are part of the broader Oz Trail System in Northwest Arkansas. Participants run through natural scenery and historical landmarks, including the Christ of the Ozarks Statue, parts of The Holy Land Tour, and the Old City of Jerusalem.
The event features four distinct distances:
- Half Marathon Trail Run (13.1 miles)
- 5 Mile Trail Run
- 5k Trail Run
- Fun Run
The Fun Run is an all-road course that loops around the Passion Play grounds and reaches the Christ of the Ozarks Statue. The 5k Trail Run follows a route along the top of the hill, passing the amphitheater, the tabernacle, and crossing the stage of the passion play. The 5 Mile Trail Run consists of a route through several trail sections, including Genesis, Holy Roller, Passover, and Revelation, featuring a loop around the Sea of Galilee. The Half Marathon is a combined course consisting of the 5-mile and 5k routes.
All participants who finish their respective events receive a cast finishers medal. Aid stations are situated along each course, and refreshments are provided at the finish line. Each registrant also receives a ticket to a performance of The Great Passion Play, valid for use in 2026 or 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
