Rare To Real: The Run
Rare To Real: The Run is a one-time fundraising road race held at Rathcoffey GAA in Kildare on Saturday, 8 August 2026. The event raises funds for the Irish Cancer Society and Breakthrough Cancer Research and was created following an organiser’s cancer diagnosis to support research and services.
Race details note that both routes are AAI-measured and that the start and finish are at Rathcoffey GAA. The course runs on the roads around Rathcoffey.

Additional information: limited T-shirts will be available on the day, all participants receive a finisher’s medal, and a bag drop area is provided. Parking and toilet facilities are available at Rathcoffey GAA. Prizes are offered for the top three male and top three female finishers in each race: 10K prizes are €100, €50, and €30; 5K prizes are €50, €30, and €20. Post-race refreshments including sandwiches, tea and coffee will be available in the hall.
Online ticket sales run from 25 March 2026 until 8 August 2026. Entry fees listed on the event page are €25 for the 10K and €20 for the 5K, excluding ticketing fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
