Rare To Real: The Run
Rare To Real: The Run is a one-time road race taking place on 8 August 2026 at Rathcoffey GAA in County Kildare. The event supports the Irish Cancer Society and Breakthrough Cancer Research and was established after the founder's personal experience of cancer and recovery.
The event offers the following measured distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
Both routes are AAI-measured and run on roads around Rathcoffey, with the start and finish located at Rathcoffey GAA. All participants receive a finisher's medal. Limited event T-shirts will be available on the day. A bag drop area will be provided. Parking and toilet facilities are available at Rathcoffey GAA.
Prizes are awarded in male and female categories. The 10 km prizes are 1st €100, 2nd €50, and 3rd €30. The 5 km prizes are 1st €50, 2nd €30, and 3rd €20.
Post-race refreshments will be served in the hall and include sandwiches, tea, and coffee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
