Rare to Real: The Run
Rare to Real: The Run is a community road race held at Rathcoffey GAA in Kildare on Saturday, 8 August 2026. The event raises funds for the Irish Cancer Society and Breakthrough Cancer Research and was established following a founder's personal experience with cancer. It is presented as a one time event with a community focus.
The event offers measured road courses and finishes back at Rathcoffey GAA. Facilities on site include a bag drop area, parking at Rathcoffey GAA and toilet facilities. Limited event T shirts will be available on the day and all participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Post race refreshments such as sandwiches, tea and coffee will be served in the hall.
Prize money is offered separately for the 10K and 5K races with awards for the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Online ticket prices listed for the event are €25 for the 10K and €20 for the 5K, with online sales open from 25 March 2026 until 8 August 2026.
