Ranger Ruck

The Ranger Ruck is an annual ruck, run, and walk event in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The route covers approximately 6.1 miles (10K) and begins at the UWSP Marshfield Clinic Champions Hall, passing through Schmeeckle Reserve before returning to the start area. The course is an out and back route that includes two lake loops around Schmeeckle and starts and finishes near Coleman Track. Participants may choose to ruck with a weighted pack, run, or walk; the specified ruck weight is 35 pounds.

Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the Ruck category and to the top three finishers in the Run/Walk category. A vendor fair follows the event and event organizers provide an event t-shirt and a goody bag to each participant at packet pick-up. The event has offered a raffle for an autographed Green Bay Packers football with tickets available through registration and in person; the raffle drawing is presented during awards and the winner need not be present.

All funds and fundraising for the event support Cadets to participate in team events and competitions such as the Army Ten Miler and the Bataan Death March. Cadets and UWSP hockey team members assist on course to help with street crossings and to keep participants on the correct route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
