Ranelagh Sunset Sprint 3K
The Ranelagh Sunset Sprint is a three kilometre evening race held in Richmond on Friday 18 June 2027. Race HQ is at Ham Avenues near Ham House and the course runs through the avenues and paths around Ham House, returning via Ham Avenues. The route combines hard trail and tarmac, includes gentle turns, and features a 400 metre finishing straight.
Racing is organised in seeded waves of up to 50 runners based on an estimated 5k time, with times from all waves combined for Surrey Road League individual and team standings. Every race is chip timed and kilometre markers, marshals at turns and water at the finish are provided. Runners receive a Sunset Sprint race patch as a finisher keepsake.
Facilities at Race HQ include a staffed bag drop, portable toilets, a bar and a pizza van. The event holds a Gold rating for 2026. Prizes are awarded to each wave winner, the top three Open and Women overall, and age-category prizes for 35 to 44, 45 to 54, 55 to 64, 65 to 74 and 75 plus. Prize rules specify that a runner qualifying for both podium and age-category awards receives the higher-value prize and the other prize passes to the next eligible finisher.
Minimum age is 13 on race day; runners under 15 require parental consent. This is not a closed-road race; runners must keep left and be considerate of other road users. In-ear and over-ear headphones are not permitted while bone-conduction headphones are allowed. Some course sections have uneven surfaces and are not suitable for wheelchair users. Blind or partially sighted runners may be accompanied by a guide runner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
