Ranelagh 10K
The Ranelagh 10K is an annual 10K road race held on Riverside Drive in the borough of Richmond Upon Thames, with the race HQ at the Kew and Ham Sports Association (TW10 7QA). The course is a flat, two-lap route that runs along the Thames Towpath and passes Teddington Lock, offering river and tree-lined views.
The route starts on Riverside Drive, follows a service road down to Teddington Lock, continues on the higher riverside towpath, then proceeds via Lower Ham Road, Richmond Road, Dukes Avenue, Dysart Avenue, Burnell Avenue and Beaufort Road before returning to Riverside Drive for a second lap and the finish. Each kilometre is marked and marshals are positioned at all turns; lead, roving and tail bikes support the field.
The race is fully chip timed. Race numbers and chips are available to collect on race day near the start/finish area. There is one water station on course passed twice, and water is also provided at the finish. Changing facilities, toilets and showers are available at Richmond & Kew FC, with additional portable toilets on site. A dedicated bag drop is manned during the event. Post-race refreshments such as teas, coffees and ice-cream are available to buy.
Prizes include Open podium places, age-category first places (35–44, 45–54, 55–64, 65+, 75+), and team prizes (first team women or men, four to score). A course record prize of £100 is offered for breaking the current Open or Women records. The event issues sew-on medal patches instead of traditional medals as a sustainability measure.
The race is part of the Surrey 10k Championships, the Surrey Road League, and the Ranelagh Harriers Summer Road Grand Prix. Roads remain open to traffic; runners should keep to the left and use the pavement where possible. Minimum entry age is 15 years. The course is not suitable for wheelchair users; blind or partially sighted runners may be accompanied.
