About the race
Ranelagh Harriers stage an annual 10K road race on a flat two‑lap course in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The route runs along Riverside Drive and the Thames Towpath, with scenic sections by Teddington Lock and riverside trees.
The event is part of the Surrey 10k Championships, the Surrey Road League, and the club’s Summer Road Grand Prix and 10K Road Championships. It received a Gold rating from Racecheck.com in 2024 and 2025. The race is fully chip timed and provides race numbers and chips for collection on race day.
Facilities include changing rooms, toilets and showers at Richmond & Kew FC, plus portable toilets on site. A manned bag drop is available and teas, coffees and ice cream are offered after the race. Hydration is provided at one water station on course, which is passed twice at about 2.4 km and 6.5 km, with additional water at the finish. Marshals mark turns, each kilometre is waymarked and lead, roving and tail bikes support runners.
Prizes include individual medals for podium positions and age categories, team prizes and a course record bonus of £100 for first runners to better the listed course times (Open 31:45 and Women 35:20). Minimum age is 15 years. Roads remain open to traffic, so runners must keep to the left and use pavements where possible. Use of in ear and over ear headphones is prohibited; bone conducting headphones are permitted. The course is not suitable for wheelchair users. Refunds are generally not offered except for pregnancy, and transfers are allowed for an administration fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
