The course includes over 8,000 feet of total climbing across the two distances. Notable summits on the 50K route include Horsepasture Mountain, Macduff Mountain, and Kings Castle. Terrain features long climbs, technical sections, switchback descents, creek drainages, and more open ridgelines with expansive views.
50K runners are shuttled from the community center to Olallie North trailhead; the shuttle ride is about 15 to 18 minutes and start area amenities include a portapotty and light snacks. The 50K route has extended aid gaps, several aid stations along the route, an out-and-back segment, and a steep final descent into the finish area. The finish experience includes on-site food such as pulled pork sandwiches, soup, and beer served inside the community center.
Logistics include one drop bag allowed for 50K runners, staged at the community center and delivered to O'Leary/Castle Rock aid locations. Packet pickup is available on Wednesday October 7 at Salvation Nutrition in Eugene and there is race day packet pickup and check in at the community center.
