Rage Triathlon - Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Rage Triathlon is a spring multisport event held at Boulder Beach in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Las Vegas, Nevada. The event has been staged since 2001 and includes triathlon, duathlon and aquabike formats. Sprint and Olympic options are offered.
The local climate is a subtropical hot desert typical of the Mojave Desert, and the event takes place in the warm transitional spring season. Regional triathlon clubs attend to start the multisport race season early.
The bike course is hilly, with most climbs located on a section of Lakeshore Drive that lies entirely within the national recreation area. The Olympic distance run passes the Boulder Beach campground and continues onto the River Mountain Loop Trail. The course routes travel through desert landscape within the recreation area.
