Race4Love - Hopeful Horizons
The Race4Love is a family-friendly sporting event held on Cat Island in Beaufort, South Carolina. Participants can choose between two different distances:
- 5 km run
- 3 km walk
The event takes place on a nationally certified course, approved by the Road Running Technical Council of USA Track & Field. The route traverses the streets of three distinct neighborhoods on Cat Island, with the event site located approximately 2.8 miles from the turn-off at Lady's Island Drive. Registration and parking are situated near the tennis courts.
The event utilizes chip timing to determine official results. Awards are presented to the top two overall male and female runners. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three finishers in various age divisions, ranging from 9 & under to 70 & over. All children aged 9 and under receive a participation medal.
This event is dog-friendly and takes place rain or shine. It is organized by Hopeful Horizons, a children’s advocacy, domestic violence, and rape crisis center, with proceeds supporting survivors of domestic violence. Early bird registration is typically available to secure event merchandise, though registration remains open until the morning of the event.
