The course is roughly half park road and half improved trail, with a mix of service roads, paved park sections and rocky singletrack. The route starts at the tower and follows marked service roads and trails, includes two water stops (one self-serve), and requires attention to flagging, signs and volunteers. The course is not completely closed to traffic.

The 10K is two loops of the 5K, the 15K is three loops, and the 20K is four loops. There is a three hour cutoff for the event. Packet pickup occurs on race day at the pavilion; there is no race day registration.

Runners who climb the tower will receive a finisher’s medal at the top; a signed waiver is required to climb the tower and is valid for the day. Official finish times are awarded whether or not a runner climbs the tower.

Awards go to the first three male and female finishers in each division. The event benefits OHS Cross Country and donates five dollars from every entry to Palisades Park. Shirts are available with paid registration through April 16, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
