Race To Stop Hunger 5k : 12th Annual
The 12th Annual Race To Stop Hunger 5k is organized by Kids Against Hunger-Illinois and takes place on August 8, 2026 at Mallard Lake Forest Preserve in Bloomingdale, IL. The event combines in person and virtual options and allocates 100% of race proceeds for 2026 to feed children locally and globally.

The certified course uses wide scenic paths with limestone and some asphalt. Facilities at the preserve include flush toilet bathrooms. Early packet pickup is scheduled at the Kids Against Hunger-Illinois facility at 200 N. Garden Ave., Roselle, IL, and race day packet pickup is at the pavilion at Mallard Lake Forest Preserve.
Awards and team competition are part of the event. Cash prizes are listed for the top two overall male and female finishers. Age group medals are awarded 1st through 3rd for five year age bands from 9 & under through 80 & over. Team medals recognize best average time, largest group, and highest fundraising; a team requires three or more participants and team placement uses averaged times, excluding virtual-only times.
The race began in 2015. Organizer statements note the event has funded over 376,000 meals and the organization has packed multiple millions of meals through its volunteer packing efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
