Race To Stop Hunger 5K : 12th Annual
The Race To Stop Hunger 5K is the 12th annual fundraiser organized by Kids Against Hunger-Illinois on August 8, 2026, at Mallard Lake Forest Preserve in Bloomingdale, IL. One hundred percent of race proceeds for 2026 are designated to feed children both locally and globally. The event began in 2015 and supports the organization’s packing and distribution programs.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes a short youth race. The in-person 5K uses a certified course with wide scenic paths through the forest preserve on limestone and some asphalt. Facilities listed for the preserve include flush toilet bathrooms. Packet pickup is available before race day at the Kids Against Hunger-Illinois facility in Roselle and on race day at the Mallard Lake pavilion. Awards include cash prizes for the top overall male and female finishers and medals for the top three in multiple five-year age categories. Team awards are given for best average time, largest group, and highest fundraising. Virtual participants can run on their own course on the event date, log results using tracking tools, and are not eligible for in-person awards.
