Race to Raise: Pinedale Half Marathon
Race to Raise is the culminating event of the Foundation 23 fundraising campaign in Pinedale, Wyoming. The event offers multiple running distances and a free one mile fun run for all ages. A portion of each registration supports local nonprofits.
Distances:
- Half Marathon (out-and-back to Fremont Lake)
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run (free for all ages)
Course notes describe the half marathon as an out-and-back route from Pinedale to Fremont Lake, following mostly paved roads and bike paths to a turnaround at the Fremont Lake campground. The 10K begins at the Fremont Lake lookout and features an initial downhill followed by a gentler descent back toward town. The 5K runs through town, uses the bike path toward Willow Lake Road, loops through the Trails End neighborhood, and returns to Rendezvous Pointe. The 1 mile fun run takes place on town streets and starts and ends at Rendezvous Pointe. All races finish at Rendezvous Pointe.
Event details include a high-altitude warning: Pinedale sits at about 7,185 feet elevation and the course gains roughly 300 additional feet. The event does not offer refunds. For the half marathon, 10K, and 5K, bikes, strollers, and dogs are not allowed; bikes and strollers are allowed in the one mile fun run.
Awards for male and female winners in the half marathon, 10K, and 5K are presented during the community barbecue and include a $100 certificate to donate to a participating nonprofit. Local nonprofits host booths at Rendezvous Pointe, race merchandise is sold at packet pickup and race day, and a free community barbecue is held to conclude the day's events.
