Race for YMCA 5K/10K

The 15th annual Race for YMCA 5K/10K is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Margaret B. Upton Arboretum in St. Joseph, Michigan. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes the following distances:

• 5K Run
• 5K Walk
• 10K Run
• Virtual options available for each event

Proceeds benefit the Benton Harbor–St. Joseph YMCA annual campaign, which provides financial assistance for memberships and programs to local children and families in need. The campaign aims to broaden access to YMCA programs regardless of financial circumstance.

Registration fees vary by date: early registration through May 31 is $30, regular registration June 1 through July 16 is $35, and late registration July 17 and 18 is $40. T‑shirts are short sleeved cotton and are guaranteed for registrants who sign up by June 21, 2026. Packet pickup will be held at the Margaret B. Upton Arboretum on race day. Virtual participants may complete their event and upload times from July 18 through July 26; virtual participants receive a race shirt available for pickup beginning July 17 at the Benton Harbor–St. Joseph YMCA.

Awards include trophies for overall male and female winners in the 10K and 5K runs, medals for top three in age groups for both runs, top three walkers overall, and medals for all children who finish. Only in-person participants are eligible for trophies and medals.

The course passes along the St. Joseph River and Lake Michigan, with views of Silver Beach, Lions Park Beach, and the Howard Recreational Trail. City streets will remain open during the event; participants are asked to stay within coned or barricaded lanes. Parking guidance and porta potties are provided, and timing is managed by Classic Race Management with results posted after the event.
