Event
The Run for Recovery 5k Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Westland, MI. The event is a timed 5k run/walk on a fast, flat course in Hines Park at Nankin Mills Recreation Area (33259 Edward N Hines Dr, Westland, MI 48185). Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. The race is the fifth annual edition and raises funds for the Help a Sister Out program, which covers half of the registration fee for women in 12-step recovery programs to attend the Women in Motion retreat.
Logistics and registration
Standard registration fee listed at $30, with the price increasing after February 28, 2026. Day-of registration is available for $45. Registration includes a T-shirt for participants who register by April 12 (shirt not guaranteed after that date), a finisher medal for every participant, and refreshments at the start and finish areas.
