Race for Reading 5K & Fun Run 2026
The event takes place on November 14, 2026, at Potawatomi Wildlife Park in Tippecanoe, Indiana. It includes a timed 5K run/walk and a shorter fun run that begins and ends near the park pavilion.

The 5K course runs through parts of the park, including a wooded area and prairie. The event partners with the park’s glow in the dark scavenger hunt; a flashlight may be useful for that activity.
Registration opens on September 5, 2026 and closes on November 12, 2026. The listed registration fees are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run. A T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by November 3, 2026. Race day registration is available at the same fees without the T-shirt guarantee.
Awards for the 5K include top male and top female overall, plus first through third place in each age group: 15 & under, 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55+. The Fun Run awards the top three girls and top three boys.
Proceeds are divided between the Young Author's Conference and scholarship funds, which support one high school recipient and one continuing education recipient. A guest children's author will appear as part of the event program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
