Welwyn and Hatfield Pretty Muddy 5k
The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course set within Stanborough Park in Welwyn Garden City. The route runs on a mix of cross country terrain, tarmac and gravel, and includes bumpy sections and a few uphill and downhill slopes. Start and finish areas are on grass behind the boating lake reception and can be uneven or soft underfoot; in wet weather the ground may become muddy and slippery.
Wave starts are staggered every 15 minutes to manage safety on the course. Participants must be 13 years of age or older. Marshals are present on the course to assist and obstacles may be skipped if needed. Pretty Muddy Kids events are available separately for younger children aged 12 and under.
Travel and parking information notes parking in the north and south Stanborough Park car parks with fees and camera enforcement; drop off and blue badge parking are available near the south lake car park. The site is reachable by bus 405 and is about a 35 minute walk from Welwyn Garden City train station. Cycle parking is in the north car park.
