Race for Life Welwyn and Hatfield 10k
The event is a Race for Life 10k organised by Cancer Research UK, scheduled for Sunday 17 May 2026 at Stanborough Park, Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City AL8 6DF. The course starts and finishes on grass and follows a mixture of grass and tarmac paths; it includes uphill and downhill grassy slopes. The event is chip timed.
Entry is open to participants aged 16 and over. The listed entry fee is £17.49 and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50. A promotional code offering 50% off entries is available until 19 April 2026.
The main meeting point is on the south side of the park behind the boating lake reception; the organiser provides a what3words location for the exact start area. Parking is available in the north and south Stanborough Park car parks, with parking fees and camera enforcement in operation. Drop off is available in both car parks and blue badge parking is located in the South Lake car park. There are no electric vehicle charging points at the venue. Public transport options include buses and a train station approximately a 35 minute walk away.
Facilities listed as available include refreshments, toilets, allowance for dogs and suitability for pushchairs. The site is deemed unsuitable for wheelchair users because of mixed terrain and inclines. Sunflower wristbands, trained Event Managers and BSL stage content via QR code are provided to support attendees.
