Race for Life Leicester at Victoria Park
Race for Life at Victoria Park in Leicester is a running event organised by Cancer Research UK. Distances offered include:
- 10k
- 5k
- 3k
The start and finish are on grass. The course uses a mix of grass and tarmacked paths and is described as flat mixed terrain. The 10k route is a double lap. In wet weather the grass sections may become soft or muddy, which can affect underfoot conditions and may increase the level of assistance required.
The event is chip timed. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and access to an online community. A Race for Life medal is awarded at the finish. The event has a minimum fundraising target of £50.
Facilities listed include refreshments, toilets, provision for pushchairs and dogs, and wheelchair access with assistance. Blue Badge parking is available about 200 m from the event on hardstanding. General parking near the park is limited; several public car parks are cited. The nearest train station is Leicester, approximately a 10 minute walk. Bus stops on London Road and Victoria Park Road are close to the venue. A bike park is available on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
