Race for Life Derby at Markeaton Park
The event is held at Markeaton Park in Derby with the start and finish on the large grass field in the centre of the park, a short walk from the café and tennis courts. The courses use a mixture of terrains including grass field, woodland paths and main park paths. The 10 km route is a double lap of the 5 km route. In wet weather grassed areas may become soft or muddy and some adjustments to the route may be made.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, parking and wheelchair access with assistance. Bag drop and showers are listed as not available, and the event is not suitable for pushchairs. Paths around the site include tarmac sections; the course has a short up and down hill section of about 100 m and a gravel section of around 80 m which may be uneven.
Entry and fundraising details note a minimum fundraising target and different ticket prices for adults and children. Registered participants receive event information by email and the event is chip timed. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and a Race for Life medal on completion.
