Race for Life Cardiff - Coopers Field
Race for Life Cardiff at Coopers Field, Bute Park is a community running event offering three distances. Available distances include:
- 10k, double lap of the 5k route
- 5k
- 3k
The course starts and finishes on grass and follows a mixture of tarmac paths and grassy fields. Over 50 percent of the route is on grass with no path alternative, and the surface can become boggy after severe wet weather. The 10k consists of two laps of the 5k course.
The venue address is Coopers Field - Bute Park, Off North Road, Cathays, Cardiff, CF10 3ER. The start line is on the north side of Coopers Field opposite Orchard Lawns; the finish line is on the south side opposite the Gorsedd Stone Circle. There are multiple park entrances from North Road, Castle Street, Sophia Gardens and Blackweir Ambulance Depot. Cathays and Cardiff Central train stations are about a 15 minute walk away. General car parking is not available; nearby drop off and public car parks are listed for North Road and Sophia Gardens. There are no cycle racks at the event.
Facilities include refreshments, toilets, allowance for dogs, suitability for pushchairs, and wheelchair access with assistance. Event staff provide accessibility support, sunflower wristbands are available, and a BSL interpreter and QR code will be available on stage. Entry fees listed are £17.49 for ages 16 and over and £11.00 for children. A minimum fundraising target of £50.00 applies.
