Race Against Poverty

Events

The 16th Annual Race Against Poverty includes three events:

• 5K Run/Walk (adults: $30, youth 17 and under: $15)
• Raber Kids 1 Mile Run ($10, includes a shirt, for ages 11 and under)
• Raber Kids Dash (free, for ages 11 and under)

Prices for the 5K increase after April 30, 2026. Online registration for all events closes at midnight on June 4, 2026. In-person registration for the 5K will be available on race day for $40. All 5K participants will be timed.

Event Day

Race day activities take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Registration and packet pickup open at 3:00 p.m. The events are scheduled for the afternoon and evening:

• The Raber Kids 1 Mile begins at 4:00 p.m.
• The Raber Kids Dash begins at 4:15 p.m.
• The 5K Run/Walk for runners and walkers begins at 5:00 p.m.
• An awards ceremony and door prize announcements are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

From 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., there will be retail and food vendors, information tables, activities, and music.

Participation Options

Participants can enter the 5K as an individual, as part of a Team Challenge (teams of 5 or more), or as a co-ed Running Duo. Team and duo placements are based on combined times, but members are also eligible for individual awards. Teams and duos must be registered online before online registration closes.

Awards

There are multiple award categories. The overall top three male and female 5K finishers receive cash prizes. Medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers and the top three male and female finishers in each age bracket. Fundraising awards include gift cards for the top fundraising team and the top three individual fundraisers. Door prizes are also given. A traveling trophy is awarded for the fastest team and the fastest running duo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
