16th Annual Race Against Poverty
The event takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Chambersburg, PA 17201. The program includes multiple running events for adults and children and features retail and food vendors, information tables, activities, music, and a published course map.

Registration and entry fees
Online registration closes on June 5. In-person registration is available on race day; the same-day 5K fee is $40. Listed entry fees are: Kids Dash free, Kids 1 Miler $10, 5K youth (17 and under) $15 (rising to $20 after April 30), and 5K adults (18 and older) $30 (rising to $35 after April 30). All 5K Run/Walk participants will be timed. The Kids 1 Miler fee includes a t-shirt.
Format, teams, and awards
The event offers Individual, Team Challenge, and Running Duo categories. A Team Challenge requires 5 or more registered participants; a team’s score uses the combined times of its first five finishers. Running Duos are co-ed pairs scored by combined time. Teams and Duos must be registered online before the close of online registration; team members cannot be added on race day. Fundraising awards include gift cards for top teams and individuals. Over 100 door prizes will be drawn. Cash awards for overall 5K finishers (male and female) are $150 for 1st, $125 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd. Trophies or medals are awarded for overall and age-bracket placings, plus specialty trophies for the fastest team and fastest Running Duo.
